Getting there

By air: Cancun International Airport is the second busiest airport in Mexico. It is located around 16km from the Hotel Zone. To get from the airport to the city and resort areas, you can take one of the ‘collectivos’. These vans carry a mixture of passengers to downtown Cancun and to the resort areas. Minibus transport is also available. Taking a taxi is another option and the journey should cost approximately $40. To get back to the airport, you will have to take a taxi; however, the return journey will cost quite a bit less than the journey in.

By bus: Buses from all over Mexico arrive at Cancun’s ADO bus terminal. It is located at the corner of Avenida Uxmal and Avenida Tulum in the downtown area.

Getting around

By bus: Cancun has a pretty good city bus network, with services connecting the hotel zone to the downtown area on the mainland. Services are cheap and frequent.

By taxi: Taxis can be found throughout the city.

On foot: Walking around Cancun is quite possible as it has a compact downtown area filled with amenities.
